Flight Stand 60 Engine Test Stand

Built for Internal Combustion Engine Testing

The Flight Stand 60 is the only test stand in our lineup purpose-built for gas UAV engines. Unlike our electric motor stands, it includes dedicated fuel flow sensing, thermocouple arrays for exhaust/head temperature, a vibration-hardened DAQ, and a fiber optic RPM sensor safe for high-temperature, high-EMI environments.

1000 Hz Sampling Rate

Dynamic performance evaluation at 1,000 Hz. Analyze engine harmonics, vibration signatures, torque ripple, and transient performance with millisecond resolution.

Crosstalk-Calibrated Load Cell

Inspired by ASTM E74/E2624 standards and enhanced for precise multi-force measurement. Eliminates crosstalk between thrust and torque channels common in high-vibration ICE environments.

I/O API and Python Control

Use our API to connect external sensors, throttle servos, ignition controls, and custom probes. Fully automate test sequences — fuel sweeps, throttle profiles, endurance cycles — via Python.

Maximum Rated Performance

Every unit ships ASTM-calibrated, with full gas-engine sensor suite included as standard. No configuration choices — one complete kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the warranty on the Flight Stand 60 engine test stand?

The Flight Stand 60 comes with a 1-year limited warranty. Extended warranty and MRO packages are available upon request. See our complete Terms of Service for full details and conditions.

How is the Flight Stand 60 calibrated?

The Flight Stand 60 is calibrated according to ASTM standards: ASTM E74 with 169 points of push & pull for thrust, and ASTM E2428 with 102 points CCW for torque. The load cell also undergoes crosstalk correction to ensure thrust and torque measurements do not interfere with each other — critical in high-vibration ICE applications.

What's included with the Flight Stand 60 kit?

The Flight Stand 60 kit includes: test stand hardware, 1 engine mounting plate with dampers, 1 force measurement unit, 1 Flight Stand DAQ, 1 sync hub, 1 fuel flow sensor, 1 fiber optic RPM sensor, 4 thermocouple temperature sensors, 1 airspeed pressure sensor, complimentary software for system control and data acquisition, and a complimentary training course that covers stand setup and propulsion testing theory.

Are engines, propellers, and starters included?

Engines, propellers, and starters are not included and must be sourced by the customer.

How do I mount my engine on the Flight Stand 60?

The Flight Stand 60 kit includes an engine mounting plate used to mount your engine on the stand. Mark and drill your engine's screw pattern on the plate. The plate is then mounted on the Flight Stand Force Measurement Unit (FMU) using the vibration dampers provided, which isolate engine vibration from the load cell.

Can the stand be used in water?

Our test stands are not designed for use in water.
